About
Kawaii Art & Culture Exhibition is a vibrant celebration of all things cute, colourful and creative. The word kawaii comes from Japan and means “cute”, but it has grown into a global culture that inspires art, fashion, toys, animation, food, design and self-expression. Step into a playful world filled with bright colours, adorable characters, nostalgic memories and imaginative artworks.
From illustration, ceramics and sculpture to fashion, digital art and immersive installations, the exhibition showcases the many different ways artists are inspired by kawaii culture. Visitors will also be able to explore interactive photo zones throughout the exhibition, designed for immersive and playful photo opportunities. Curated by Wolverhampton-based artist Tamla Pearce, the exhibition brings together a vibrant and immersive experience celebrating kawaii culture in all its forms.
Whether you’re a long-time fan of Japanese pop culture, love cute aesthetics, or are simply looking for a fun and unique day out with friends and family, Kawaii Art & Culture Exhibition offers a joyful experience for visitors of all ages. *Launch Event* Friday 31 July, 6:00pm – 8:00pm *Normal Exhibition Opening Hours:* 10:30am – 4:30pm daily (Last Admission 4:00pm) *Look out for special workshops, activities and events taking place throughout the exhibition.* *Artist spotlight coming soon!*
