General
discovernearme is a platform that helps you discover local activities and events happening near you. We aggregate events from multiple sources so you can find things to do in your city all in one place.
discovernearme covers locations right across the United Kingdom — hundreds of towns and cities nationwide, with more added regularly. Just search for any town, city, or postcode to find events happening near you.
Yes, discovernearme is completely free to use. You can browse and search for events without creating an account. Creating an account unlocks additional features such as saving events and setting up alerts.
Event listings are updated regularly from our data sources. How often a particular listing refreshes varies by source. For the most accurate information, we recommend checking directly with the event organiser.
Yes! If you know of a local event that should be listed on discovernearme, please visit our Contact page with the event details and we will review it for inclusion.
Account & Sign-In
You can create a free account by clicking "Sign In" in the navigation bar and choosing to sign in with Google. We use OAuth for secure, passwordless authentication.
To delete your account, go to your Account settings page and select "Delete Account". This will permanently remove your account, saved events, and preferences. This action cannot be undone.
Your email address is linked to your sign-in method (e.g. your Google account). To use a different email, sign out and sign in with a different Google account. Note this creates a new account.
Your account stores your email address, display name, saved events, alert preferences, and location preferences. You can view and manage all of this from your Account settings page. To request a copy of your data under UK GDPR, contact us via the Contact page.
Event Listings
Click the bookmark icon on any event card or event detail page to save it to your saved events list. You need to be signed in to save events.
If you notice incorrect or outdated event information, use the "Report Outdated" button on the event detail page. Our team reviews all reports and updates listings accordingly.
discovernearme links to official ticketing pages where available, but does not sell tickets directly. Clicking "Get Tickets" or "Book Now" will take you to the event organiser or ticketing platform.
Yes. Use the price filter on the events search page to show only free events, paid events, or all events. You can also combine this with other filters such as category, date, and location.
Alerts & Notifications
Event alerts email you a digest of new events matching your criteria. You can set up alerts for specific categories within a location and radius, and narrow them with filters such as free, family-friendly, dog-friendly, indoor, or accessible events.
Go to the Alerts section from your account menu and click "Create Alert". Choose your categories, location and radius, any filters, and how often you want the digest — weekly or monthly — then save. You will receive matching events by email on that schedule.
You choose the frequency when you create the alert: a weekly digest (delivered each Monday) or a monthly digest (delivered on the 1st). Each email groups the new matching events for that period into a single digest, so we never flood your inbox.
You can delete an alert from your Alerts page in your account. Alternatively, each alert email contains an unsubscribe link that removes the specific alert. You can also unsubscribe from all alerts in your account settings.
Privacy & Data
We collect your email address, name (from your OAuth provider), saved events, alert preferences, and general usage data. We do not collect payment information or sensitive personal data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
You can delete your account and all associated data from your Account settings page. For a formal data deletion request under GDPR, please visit our Contact page.
Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data, as well as to restrict or object to processing. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how to exercise these rights.
