About

There is something truly unforgettable about watching a great film beneath the stars, wrapped up in a cosy blanket with a picnic by your side. Few locations capture that magic quite like Corfe Castle. Each summer, the Purbeck Film Festival brings Cinema Under the Stars to one of Dorset’s most iconic landmarks, transforming the historic castle ruins into a spectacular open-air cinema experience.

To find out what films are showing and the latest screening dates this summer, please visit the official Purbeck Film Festival website, where you can also book your tickets. Held on selected summer evenings, these unique outdoor film screenings invite audiences to relax with a picnic, blanket or camping chair while enjoying blockbuster favourites, family classics and feel-good films against the breathtaking backdrop of the thousand-year-old castle ruins. As the sun sets over the Purbeck Hills and the ancient stone walls are illuminated beneath the night sky, Corfe Castle becomes one of the UK’s most atmospheric outdoor cinema venues.

Presented by the Purbeck Film Festival, Cinema Under the Stars has delighted audiences for many years, bringing people together to enjoy the magic of film in extraordinary surroundings while celebrating one of the South West’s longest-running independent film festivals.
