Canalside Sessions with Williams Cumberbache is a regular weekend treat that brings world-class live music right to Hackney Wick. ABOUT THE EVENT Every Sunday afternoon from 1-4 pm, master conga player Williams Cumberbache, with over 30 years in the UK music scene and collaborations with legends like Goldie and Björk. Each week Williams will be joined by special guest bands bringing amazing live music to Hackney Wick every week with something different. Ideal for families, friends, and music lovers alike and even your dog will enjoy this uplifting experience which is all about connection, relaxation, and the joy of live music—an essential part of Grow’s vibrant community. SPECIAL GUEST TBA – EDD BATEMAN & MOSI CONDE Bassist and bandleader Edd Bateman joins Guinean griot and master kora player Mosi Conde for an afternoon of West African music and open improvisation. Bateman has spent years performing and learning alongside musicians from Senegal, Mali and The Gambia, while Conde has played professionally since the age of 15. Together they bring a spontaneous meeting of bass, kora, rhythm and jazz. FOOD AND DRINK Grow’s food menu includes brunch options and a fusion of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Modern British plates and sharers made with seasonal ingredients, always with handmade touches.
