British Wildlife Photography Awards

This free exhibition showcases the best in British wildlife photography, celebrating the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Be guided around the exhibition in the photographers own words, with detailed captions giving the remarkable images context. Both amateur and professional photographers competed in 11 different categories in the adult competition: Animal Behaviour Animal Portraits Botanical Britain Black & White Coast & Marine Habitat Hidden Britain Urban Wildlife Wild Woods There are also a British Seasons and Documentary Series making up the special awards.

Three age categories in the Youth competition and Wildlife in HD Video complete the awards. Among the images on display are: Paul Hobson’s A Toad Swims Across Its Woodland Pond taken from a pond-floor perspective and chosen as this year’s Grand Prize Winner and winner in the Black & White category. Ben Lucas’ Feathery Pillow , depicting a mute swan cygnet taking a nap on its sibling’s back and awarded The Young British Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2026.

Sarah Darnell’s The Fur Flew image of a pair of hares boxing, awarded runner up in the Animal Behaviour category. Felix Belloin’s Through the Lavender, runner up in the Animal Portraits category for his picture of a neighbourhood fox visiting his garden. Barry Webb’s Slime Moulds and a Water Droplet , showing Lamproderma scintillans found on a tiny fragment of wood on a very wet woodchip pile, awarded winner in the Botanical Britain category.
