About

Transforming the charming Victorian seaside town into a bustling, open-air paradise for foodies. Driven by a passionate community spirit, this annual celebration brings a fantastic buzz to the coast, layout out a giant street party packed with mouth-watering aromas, incredible local talent, and independent makers. Live Cookery Theatre: Grab a seat and watch the magic happen live on stage.

The live theatre plays host to top chefs from the region’s best hotels and restaurants. They’ll be sharing their expert insider tips, cooking up seasonal recipes, and letting you sample the dishes right as they finish making them. A Global Street Food Safari: Come hungry!

The festival's street food zones serve up freshly prepared dishes from every corner of the globe. You can tuck into wood-fired pizzas, loaded bao buns, authentic Mediterranean souvlaki, Vietnamese Banh Mi, or traditional Yorkshire pudding wraps. 100+ Artisan Market Stalls: Browse a massive variety of independent stalls showcasing the very best of Northern and Yorkshire produce. From locally distilled coastal gins and craft ales to award-winning cheeses, wild-foraged chutneys, and towering stacks of fresh NYC-style cookies, you’ll definitely want to bring a sturdy tote bag.

Art, Crafts & Coastal Vibe: It isn’t just about the food. About 20% of the festival space is dedicated to local artists and high-quality crafters, making it a wonderful place to pick up unique holiday gifts or homeware. Plus, local brick-and-mortar bars and cafes spill out onto the pavements, giving the whole seaside town a relaxed, European market atmosphere. 📅 Essential Information & Planning Your Visit: To help you get the most out of your weekend at the coast, here is everything you need to know ahead of your visit.

Dates & Opening Times: The event is completely FREE to enter! You don’t need a ticket to wander the stalls or watch the live cooking demonstrations. Dietary Choices: The festival prides itself on being highly inclusive.

You will find an abundance of vegetarian, vegan, and coeliac/gluten-free options across both the street food vendors and the baked-goods stalls. Family & Dog Friendly It is a wonderful day out for all ages, with a buzzing family atmosphere. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, but do bear in mind that the streets get exceptionally busy and crowded by midday, so it's not necessarily the best environment for your furry family members, 🚗 Travel and Getting There: Because the main roads through Saltburn town centre are closed to traffic for the event, parking in the immediate area is incredibly limited.

Visitors are strongly encouraged to use public transport or the dedicated festival travel schemes. By Car & Parking: Park & Ride (Highly Recommended): Special event Park & Ride services are running throughout the day to drop you right next to the action. Key routes operate roughly every 15 minutes from locations including Guisborough, Redcar, and Brotton (Freeborough Academy).

Nearby Parking: If you choose to drive directly to the coast, expect long delays. Limited standard pay-and-display spaces can be found near the lower promenade and beachside cliffs, but these fill up fast in the morning. By Public Transport: By Train: Taking the train is arguably the most stress-free way to arrive!

Saltburn Railway Station sits directly in the heart of the town centre, meaning you step off the platform and walk straight out into the middle of the food festival stalls. Northern Rail operates regular direct services connecting Saltburn to Middlesbrough, Darlington, and York. By Bus: Excellent local bus networks connect Saltburn to surrounding coastal towns like Whitby and Redcar, with main stops dropping you a short walk from the pedestrianised zones.
