Join us in The Listening Loft for our brand-new monthly country music listening evenings, where the music and the stories behind the lyrics take centre stage. Our September guest alongside our host Matt Hodges is the incredibly talented Becky Tate. Becky’s love for country music began early, with her first on-stage performance of LeAnn Rimes’ “How Do I Live” at the age of six.

Influenced by a blend of artists such as LeAnn Rimes, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, and newer talents such as Megan Moroney and Ella Langley, Becky has developed a distinctive style that resonates with fans old and new. In recent years, Becky has been embracing country music more fully, performing at popular venues like Bunny Jackson’s, Cowboy & Co, and the Haw Yee event in Liverpool. She is currently recording her first single, “High Road,” which is set to be released soon, with additional songs lined up for future projects.

Her ability to sing a wide range of songs and interact warmly with her audience makes every event she performs at special and memorable. Becky continues to inspire with her dedication to music and her commitment to making a positive impact on her audience. With a growing fan base and new music on the horizon, Becky’s future in country music looks incredibly promising.

Matt Hodges is a country singer-songwriter from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, who has spent more than a decade performing across the UK, Europe, and the United States. Influenced by artists such as Keith Urban, Luke Combs, and Eric Church, he broke onto the UK country scene with his 2020 debut single How Could You. Since then, he has released a string of successful singles, including Proud To Be Me, The Truths Behind Your Eyes, and Blue Ridge Road, earning a reputation for heartfelt lyrics, modern country sound, and energetic live performances.
