2 Counties Independent Film Festival - Opening Night

Join us this August at MK Gallery and the Sky Room Cinema for an electrifying weekend celebrating the very best of independent cinema. Running from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd August, the festival brings together film lovers, filmmakers, cast and crew, sponsors, and special guests for three days of creativity, connection, and cinematic storytelling at its finest. We launch the weekend in style on Friday night with our Opening Ceremony—a vibrant showcase of standout films from Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire. Doors open at 6:00pm, where you’ll be welcomed with a drink in hand, a buzzing atmosphere, and plenty of opportunities to network and connect. From 8:00pm, the screenings begin, accompanied by live introductions from the filmmakers and sponsors who brought these stories to life. Expect insight, passion, and a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creative journey. The evening will be hosted by a special VIP guest (to be announced), with local filmmakers taking to the stage to introduce their work, share their stories, and take part in engaging Q&As. You’ll also get an exclusive preview of the incredible films lined up for the rest of the weekend—setting the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of independent cinema.

Opening night Schedule o 6:00 PM – Doors open Enjoy welcome drinks and take the opportunity to network with filmmakers, creatives, and film enthusiasts. o 7:30 PM – Screenings begin A curated selection of films highlighting talent from Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire. o Post-Screening – Filmmaker Q&A Engage in a hosted discussion with selected filmmakers and gain insight into their creative process. o Opening night after party - Entry included in your 2CIFF ticket, and the venue will be 'The Midsummer Tap' which is located 30 seconds away from the MKGALLERY. (until 1 am)
