About
An interactive trail designed to connect kids with local wildlife by treating real-world animal adaptations as comic-book superpowers. Upon arrival, every young explorer gets their own Wild Superhero Booklet. Their mission?
Track down 8 wildlife characters hidden across the expansive nature trails, complete the physical challenges to test their own 'superpowers,' and collect the secret stamp for each creature. The 8 Nature Superheroes to Spot: Owl The Barn Owl: Use your 'X-Ray vision' to spot hidden clues. Spider The Jumping Spider: Test your leg muscles and see if you can leap as high as a spider.
Hedgehog The Hedgehog: Learn the defensive tricks of this spiked guardian. Rabbit The Brown Hare: Race down the track to see if you can match the speed of the fastest runner on the farm. Bee The Bumblebee, Butterflies The Butterflies, Fox The Red Fox, & Dragonfly The Dragonfly: Complete the rest of the circle to collect all 8 stamps and claim your official reward sticker at the exit!
Beyond the Trail: A Full Day of Family Fun: Woldies a standout destination is that the seasonal trail is just a small part of what's on offer. It is remarkably easy to spend 4 to 5 hours here because the physical play areas are scattered naturally through the trees and gardens. The Miniature Railway: For a small extra charge (£2 per person), families can hop aboard Woldies' iconic bright yellow miniature train.
The track winds right through the wildflower meadows, beside the wildlife ponds, loops into the woodland, and darts through a dedicated tunnel. Keep an eye out for giant dangling sculptures as you pass through The Spider’s Lair! Double the Mazes Woldies features two completely different giant mazes.
The Dino Maze is a huge hit with younger kids looking for hidden prehistoric creatures, while the second Willow Maze is packed out with oversized garden games to play as you navigate the paths. Sand, Water, & Mud Kitchen Play: The dedicated Wild Play Area features a massive covered mud kitchen space and natural sand-and-water mechanics. Kids can pump real water, build dams, construct channels, and bake mud pies under shelter.
Den Building & The Timber Trail: Deep in the shaded woodland walk, families can grab massive branches to construct their own forest tepee dens. Once they are done building, they can tackle the Timber Trail—a massive low-ropes balance assault course where the challenge is to make it around the entire loop without your feet touching the soil! Unique Family Sports: Adults and teenagers get highly competitive over Foot Golf (9 holes of golf played by kicking a football into oversized holes) and the newly added Foot Pool tables (playing pool with your feet on a giant layout).
Both are included completely free with your admission ticket. Nature, Gardens, & Conservation Stations: For those looking to explore the natural heritage of the site, Woldies functions as a managed nature reserve and working lavender farm. Lavender Fields: Extensive rows of commercial lavender are grown on-site, reaching peak purple coloration and full flower maturity between July and mid-August.
The Bee Garden: A specialized hexagon-themed educational garden displaying pollinator-friendly flora. It features an enclosed, working Observation Hive where visitors can safely watch live honeybees through glass viewing panels. The Butterfly Garden: Opened as a conservation zone, this garden houses the regional Big Butterfly Count, complete with an interactive live count board.
Ponds & Hides: Multiple managed fish and nature ponds are scattered across the walk, featuring a dedicated wooden bird hide overlooking natural nesting spaces.
