The UK's largest Children's Black Book Fair returns to Hackney! Books, stories, arts & crafts and inspiration.

LIT Stars CIC and Hackney Libraries return for the 3rd year with the UK’s largest Children's Black Book Fair. It will be our third annual celebration of books, creativity and culture on Saturday 22 August 2026 in Hackney. After two incredible years of packed audiences, unforgettable activities and sold-out success, we're back even bigger and better! Join us for an exciting afternoon filled with Black books, inspiring stories, author talks, seminars, storytelling, arts and crafts, creative activities, performances and much more. Meet talented young authors, discover amazing books, enjoy family-friendly entertainment and celebrate the power of reading, imagination and representation. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, librarian, youth worker, book lover or simply looking for a fantastic free family day out, everyone is invited.
