York Archers WRS Weekend 2026

York Archers Society welcomes you all to join us for our annual WRS weekend open competition. York Archers WRS Weekend 2026 WA1440 on Saturday, Double WA70m on Sunday August 29th and 30th 2026 Hopgrove playing fields, Malton Road, York, YO32 9TE Tournament organiser: Liam Pattinson (tournaments@yorkarchers.co.uk) Judges: TBC Assembly: 9:30am each day Tickets are: Senior £28 Junior £18 Single day senior £16 Single day junior £10 Camping is £5 per night (Friday and Saturday nights available, arrangements for Sunday can be made on request) A timing system will be used both days under method 2 Music will be played throughout, including during shooting All distances will be shot as 6 arrows in 4 minutes, in two details. For the WA1440 rounds on day 1, senior compound and recurve will shoot the two furthest distances at 10-zone target faces.

The two shorter distances will be shot at reduced 6-zone target faces. Senior barebow and longbow, plus all junior categories, will shoot all distances at 10-zone target faces. The WA50m compound rounds will be shot on reduced 6-zone target faces.

All other rounds on day 2 will shoot at full-size 10-zone faces. Medals will be awarded in all age, gender, and bowstyle categories for the combined score across both days. Archers must enter an age/gender appropriate round on both days to qualify.

WA Star awards may be claimed from the WA1440 rounds on day 1, while WA Target awards may be claimed from the WA70m rounds on Day 2. York Archers Society will not be held responsible for any damage caused to arrows from target bosses, including any arrows that pass through. Entries from archers shooting both days of the event will have priority for places.

Any online payments made for single days that do not make the target list will be refunded before the event. There will be no refunds given for archers who withdraw from the event after entries close. Archery GB dress regulations will apply as shown in Archery GB rule 307 An automatic email confirming payment will be made immediately upon online payment, a confirmation of target allocation email will be sent out manually within a week of the event.

Record status shoots are liable for drugs testing and any competitor approached to give a sample must comply. Refusal will be treated as a positive result. Closing date for any entries is Friday the 21th of August
