Expressions in Blue: Monumental Porcelain by Felicity Aylieff

Throughout the summer, Petworth House and its sweeping grounds are transformed by the monumental porcelain sculptures of Felicity Aylieff. Her new body of work draws directly from the house’s own treasures: highly decorative floral fencai-enamelled vessels echo the virtuoso woodcarving of Grinling Gibbons, while other pieces take inspiration from Petworth’s exceptional holdings of 17th-century Chinese porcelain. In the exhibition room, film and photography reveal the sheer physicality of Aylieff’s making process.
