Develop your drawing skills and creative confidence with experienced tutor Peter Stanyer. Through a series of structured, step-by-step projects, you'll learn essential drawing techniques while exploring your own creative style in a supportive and encouraging environment. This course covers the fundamental principles of drawing, helping you to improve both your observational skills and your understanding of visual language.

You'll be encouraged to experiment with a range of approaches and materials as you build confidence in your own artistic practice. Throughout the course you'll explore: Line – Create expressive and descriptive drawings using a variety of line qualities. Texture and Mark Making – Experiment with different marks and surfaces to add depth and character to your work.

Tone and Colour – Develop an understanding of light, shade and colour to create form and atmosphere. Shape and Form – Learn how to construct convincing three-dimensional forms from observation. Composition and Movement – Explore ways to organise your drawings and create dynamic, engaging images.

Drawing Systems – Gain an introduction to perspective and other drawing methods that improve accuracy and spatial awareness. By the end of the course, you'll have strengthened your core drawing skills, gained confidence in your creative decision-making, and begun to develop your own artistic direction. This course is ideal for adults who are complete beginners or those with some previous drawing experience looking to improve their skills. Whether you're starting your creative journey or returning to drawing after a break, you'll receive guidance and encouragement to progress at your own pace.
