Discover how powerful engines keep ships moving and crews safe at sea through exciting, interactive challenges. Head below deck and uncover the hidden heart of a naval vessel, the engine room. Dive into interactive puzzles and explore how different components connect and power a ship across vast oceans.

Then, take on a thrilling timed assembly challenge where you and your team must think fast, work together and rebuild an engine system before time runs out. Inspired by real marine engines used in everything from defence vessels to rescue missions, this action-packed session brings engineering to life in a fun and accessible way. It is the perfect mix of creativity, problem solving and teamwork, showing just how vital these skills are at sea.

Taking place from 28 to 30 July in the Victory Gallery Learning Centre, this drop-in activity runs from 10.30am to 4.00pm. Included with a valid museum ticket and suitable for ages 5 and over. This summer event series celebrates the story and spirit of the Royal Marines in anticipation of the opening of our new Royal Marines Experience later this year.
