Written on the Waterways at National Waterways Museum Gloucester

Families visiting Gloucester Docks this summer can enjoy the beautiful decoration of England’s canals through history, with exhibits to explore and activities to take part in for National Waterways Museum Gloucester’s Written on the Waterways season. With themed activities to take part in, families can discover the vibrant colours and lettering used across England’s waterways through history, as part of the museum’s 2026 summer theme, Written on the Waterways. There’s an array of other exciting exhibits to discover at the museum, too, from model ships, to a deep sea diving suit – and the museum also has its own tea room with waterside outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying an ice cream afterwards!

The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am until 4pm
