Twig Pools

Exhibition open: July/Aug: Tues – Sun (11am – 5pm) Sept: Wed – Sun (11am – 5pm) Sally Price creates site-specific sculptural rope installations that hang, pool, spread and spill from the built-in cabinets occupying the Lab Gallery. These generative works explore notions of tension, catharsis, weight, repetition and flow that are core to her practice, drawing on the natural Scottish landscape as well as inner emotional and physical landscapes. She considers these installations to be large-scale drawings in collaboration with the environment, responding to, and shaped by, the possibilities and limitations of this unique space. Alongside these new works, Sally presents a selection of smaller sculptures and works on paper, as well as photographs and sketchbooks reflecting on her recent residencies at Kelburn Castle and the Isle of Eigg.
