About

As summer settles into the land and the woodland hums with life, photographer Henry Catling and forest bathing guide Lisa Duncan invite you to slow down, soften your gaze, and rediscover your natural way of seeing. WANDER & PAUSE In this gentle, immersive session, we will wander slowly along the sun-dappled paths of Leith Hill, pausing among warm greens, shifting light, and the vibrant textures of high summer. Each stop becomes an invitation to experience the season more deeply through sound, light, movement, texture, scent, and stillness.

EXPLORE Together, we will explore questions like: How might you capture the feeling of summer air in a photograph? The hum of insects, the warmth of sunlight on your skin, the shimmer of leaves in a soft breeze. We begin by sensing, perhaps closing the eyes, listening, and noticing what stirs around and within, then gently translating those impressions into images using whatever camera you have, whether phone or DSLR.

RHYTHM This rhythm of invitation, experience, and creative response will shape our time together. No photography experience is needed, just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to look, listen, and feel more deeply. Henry will offer simple, thoughtful prompts to help you engage with the landscape through the lens, not to perfect an image, but to deepen your connection with what you see.

Lisa will guide moments of stillness and seasonal awareness to ground you in the fullness of summer. REFLECTION There will be space to share your images and reflections after each invitation, if you wish. The walk is a gentle 1-2 miles.
