Summer Smugglers’ Escapade

Set sail for our Summer Smugglers’ Escapade! Discover the world of Victorian smugglers through a family-friendly trail, museum activity bags, hands-on crafts, and imaginative play in our historic courtroom, where children can have fun taking turns to be the judge, or the smuggler in the dock. CHILDREN GO FREE*, as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a museum admission ticket.

Why not stay for a delicious home-made lunch in our mezzanine cafe, where children can enjoy our ‘Little Smugglers’ lunch box. From Thursday 23rd July until Tuesday 1st September 10.00am – 3.00pm *Children go free from 25th June 2026 – 1st September as part of the Government’s Great British Summer Savings Scheme
