CFF: Nina Roza

Single dad Mihail (Galin Stoev) returns to his homeland many years after his wife’s death, estranged and gloomy.

His successful life as an art dealer in Montreal sets him worlds apart from the rural Bulgarian context he encounters when searching for a six year-old painter prodigy.

Nina (Ekaterina Stanina, a true discovery) commands the scene like no one else, so it's only natural for Mihail to suspect something's afoot.

Is she the real deal? Nina Roza is Geneviève Dulude-de Celles's second feature film and Canada's submission for the Academy Awards.

The Cambridge Film Festival is presented by the Cambridge Film Trust, a registered charity widening access to cinema and supporting emerging talent through film, education and community programmes.
