Arkansas, summer 2002, and high schoolers Minnie and Callie prepare for life after graduation.

Though best friends, the two appear to be polar opposites. Minnie is the upper-middle class, popular star of drama class.

Callie is her shy plus one, happy to live in her friend’s shadow while navigating her single mother and a foster baby in a run-down home on the wrong side of the tracks.

When their friendship suddenly ends, Callie needs to discover who she is on her own in this pure slice of Americana.
