About
The new offering from Oscar-winner Pawel Pawlikowski takes place in 1949, just as the novelist Thomas Mann returns to Germany from exile, having opposed Hitler’s regime.
Fatherland unfolds over the few days of a roadtrip from West to East Germany at the height of the Cold War, Fatherland circles around Mann (Hanns Zischler) and his children Erika (Sandra Hüller) and Klaus (August Diehl) in a spectral reflection on art during wartime.
Join us for a very special screening of Fatherland to celebrate its release day with an expert panel discussion after the film.
The Cambridge Film Festival is presented by the Cambridge Film Trust, a registered charity widening access to cinema and supporting emerging talent through film, education and community programmes.
