About
A self-taught abstract artist originally from Brittany, Catherine Cleuziou has been calling Cambridge home since 1999. Her work is a spontaneous, vibrant response to the world around her—inspired by people, nature, shifting skies, and raw emotion. For Catherine, the process is just as important as the final piece.
She works with headphones firmly on, letting her chosen soundtrack dictate the rhythm of her brushstrokes. As she puts it: “Music makes me paint.” The result is a highly expressive, alive collection of art. She embraces the unpredictable nature of her mediums, using acrylics, watercolours, and inks—often combined with heavy water and salt—splashing, dripping, and rotating the canvas to capture movement and feeling.
Whether exploding with colour or exploring the depths of monochrome, every piece on display is an authentic, one-off original (no prints are made). Her works are created on A4 and A3 multimedia paper, wood, or glass, and are available both framed and unframed. At a Glance Style: Abstract, Expressionistic, Monochrome Subjects: Abstract, Imaginary Materials: Acrylic, Watercolour, Glass, Paper, Inks, Salt
