Carnival Mini-Makes

Get creative this August and design and create your own medals and insignia in our fun Mini-Makes sessions! Inspired by objects from our collection, you’ll use willow, tissue paper, card and glue to create unique handmade designs. Sessions are led by local artist Laura Frances Martin.

All our Mini-Make creators are encouraged to bring their finished medals and join our walking parade entry in the Bodmin Carnival on 15 August where we’ll be joined by Bodmin Cadets and a very special giant Bugle for a colourful community celebration! These sessions are led by Laura Frances Martin. Laura is a North Cornwall-based artist & performer and a member of ARTiculate.

She makes large scale lanterns and processive sculptures for festivals and events - including the giant Beast of Bodmin who now lives at Bodmin Jail. Laura also performs, makes & writes with TIMEPIECE, who brought the Tempus Fugitives to Bodmin this March. All events will be held under cover, thanks to the kind loan of The DCLI, SCLI, LI and The Rifles Association marquee.
