The dreaded Invasive Non-Native Himalayan Balsam is rearing its ugly head again and we need your help to reduce its spread! Balsam can spread and dominate habitats unchecked which vastly reduces biodiversity as it outcompetes native wildflowers and starves pollinators like many solitary bees and butterflies. We will be pulling and/or bashing balsam across the site this summer. Join us for our Hyndburn’s Nature Reserves project! There will be weekly conservation volunteers sessions at Peel Park and the Coppice Local Nature Reserve, every Monday from 10am – 1pm. Come along to learn new skills, meet people, keep fit and help wildlife!
